Description
“Todenkopf” type with two-piece combed skull, profiled plume holder and pivoting visor with bifurcate peak, wrought as a skull and pierced with eye sockets and nasal cavity, the well-embossed teeth forming the lower edge, where it is secured by a hook to the bevor, which shares a pivot point with the visor. The rims of the bevor and skull with a series of broad neck plates with studded and rolled borders. 17th century or later. Brown overall, worn. Overall height 35cm.
