Description
Composed of a homogenous cabasset helmet with pearstalk finial, the brass studs intact, with struck maker’s mark, gorget with raised collar and sprung catch, and a well-wrought breast- and backplate with finely-modeled central ridge and gussets, two-lame fauld, five lame tassets and rare codpiece with toggle intact, and pair of gauntlets with thumbs and all fingers intact. The seven-lame spaulders with rolled and roped borders associated but of the same age as the rest of the armor. On its velvet-covered stand. Last quarter of the 16th century. Pitted, releathered. Overall height 124.5cm. Condition IV
