Description
Characteristic of Meccan workmanship, the hilt wrought entirely of silver, the grips and pommel engraved overall, the guard with traces of gilding. The long, broad handforged heirloom blade single-edged with wide central fuller and radiused tip, inscribed at the forte with Latin characters between two Maltese crosses, ADBENEE (?) In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with large silver mounts embellished en suite with the hilt. Latter 19th century. Well worn, mounts with minor dents.Signed, work of WORK OF AHMAD IBN MUSA
