Description
The deep cupguard with rolled border and fine foliate pierced guarda polvo, with robust knucklebow and guard with beaded terminals, the flattened spherical pommel en suite. Wooden grip retains its twisted brass wire wrap. The long, straight, double-edged blade with deep fuller to either side marked VIVA PORTUGAL. Mid-17th century. Sealed overall. Overall length 97cm. Condition III
