Description
The hardwood stake elaborately mounted in silvered copper deeply embellished with flowers and vinework, together with a tiny bell and cross attached by twisted wire. First half of the 20th century. Minor wear. Overall length 34.5cm. Condition III. Over a dozen varieties of vampires, some of which are precontact, are known in South America. Among them are the Azeman of Surinam, the Jaraca of Brazil, the Civatateo of Mexico and the Piuchen of Chile.
