Likely German workmanship, the skull forged with radiating flutes and a stud finial. With separately-applied peak with captured, adjustable nasal retained by a set-screw and four-lame neckguard with rolled borders. Retains its black painted finish overall. Early 17th century. Earflaps lacking. Overall height 22cm. Condition II
