Description
A high-quality example, typically known by British troops during the Afghan Wars as a Khyber knife. An exceptional example for size and quality, with well-fitted grips and elegant iron bolsters, the sword-sized blade with T-back and chamfered cutting age, tapering continuously to the acute tip, and forged of fine, actively-patterned wootz damascus steel. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with pierced silver locket. First half of the 19th century. Light wear. Overall length 89cm. Condition II
