Description
A double-action Montenegrin 11.2 mm, nickeled overall, with antler grips, extractor intact. Action crisp, marked at the base of the barrel with the King Nikola I mark and GASSER PATTERN/ GUSS STAHL. Latter 19th century. Wear to nickel. King Nikola I ascended the throne of Montenegro in 1910. One of his first decrees was that every adult male must carry the Gasser pistol. The mark on the barrel indicates that it was made for and imported to the Montenegrin market in order to arm the populace. Overall length 29cm. Condition III
