Produced in Mexico, the steel hilt with small cupguard and elaborate knucklebow, wrought entirely of steel and showing the considerable skills of the smith, including wrenching, profiling and punching, the pommel chiseled with a crest. The long, straight, double-edged blade with interrupted fullers. Early 19th century. Worn overall. Overall length 122.5cm. Condition III
