Description
An earlier example than usually encountered, popular for protection as well. The hooked antler grips retained by four large iron bosses, the tangband well-profiled, with oval ferrule. The robust straight, single-edged blade with deep fuller and sharpened back edge, retaining some original sharpness. Second half of the 16th century. Well worn and cleaned. Overall length 73cm. Condition IV
