With distinctive triangular “sail” guard, the round pommel flattened and profiled, the broad guard with button terminals, and iron-bound wooden grip with original wire wrap intact. The long, continuously tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section with expanded forte with distinct hollow for the thumb. Mid-17th century. Pitted overall. Overall length 53cm. Condition IV
