Dani People, of characteristic form. The core formed from the inner bark of a tree, and tightly knotted over in continuous figure-eight technique with orchid vine, which also contributes the yellow and brown tones of the upper section. Connecting at the shoulders by means of cords. With good patina overall. From a collection formed in the 1960s. Late 19th century. Overall height 52cm. Condition II
