Description
Mughal work, the Delhi-form iron hilt with flowering vine motifs overall finely inlaid in silver and gold, the graceful blade of Northern or Muslim form, forged of the fine black wootz damascus steel, displaying very complex patterns with fine original finish overall. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard, the steel mounts inlaid in gold and silver en suite with the hilt. 19th century. Overall length 93cm. Velvet refreshed. Condition II
