Description
The hardwood stock of characteristic form with angled butt retaining its silver-mounted leather match case set with turquoises and corals, the stock inlaid throughout with fine profiled and engraved bone panels. With iron trigger and match holder, the barrel brands of intricately-wrapped silver wire, the barrel with profiled pan, breach with Chinese inscription and silver-mounted leather pan cover which likewise retains the fine wooden bipod with long, horn tips and engraved silver bands, one also bearing an engraved copper mount. 19th century or earlier. Overall length 101cm. Condition II
