The characteristic hilt with engraved brass plum-shaped pommel and ferrule and round guard with raised border, with original intricate woven grip wrap. The well-forged, fullered blade with expanded tip, and showing clear pattern-welded damascus construction and hardened edge. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with steel mounts. Latter 19th century. Worn overall, guard slightly loose. Overall length 99cm. Condition II
