The broad blade with pronounced yelman or raised edge, wrought of fine, complex black Persian wootz and inscribed in gold from Quran, Surah 48 (The Surah of Victory) Line 1: INDEED WE HAVE GRANTED YOU A CLEAR TRIUMPH, O PROPHET! Together with a pair of cartouches reading, WORK OF ASSAD ALLAH ISFAHANI and the date, 1205 (1790/91 c.e.) Dated 1790.91. Minor wear. Overall length 82cm. Condition II
