Description
Likely Hungarian, possibly made for the Russian market; a small dagger for concealment on the person. With fine silver grip modeled with baroque motifs, mounted with a fine Persian black wootz blade and gold-inlaid at the forte on each side. In its shagreen-covered wooden sheath with engraved silver mounts en suite with the hilt. Hallmarked. Mid-18th-early 19th century. Grip worn through in spots, chape dented. Overall length 23.5cm. Condition IV
