Likely German, an exceptionally well-made example with two-piece skull and rolled comb, the peaked and barred visor and bevor sharing a common pivot as is typical, the bevor pierced with breaths in a circular pattern and secured by a hook. The neck composed of two pairs of plates. Studded overall with brass rivets. Plume tube intact at the base of the skull. First half of the 17th century. Minor dents and wear. Height 44cm. Condition III
