Description
A scarce form found in Eastern Anatolia and the Transcaucasus, especially Armenia and Georgia. The horn grips with characteristic spiked terminals, wrapped with gilt braid. The blade deeply recurved and bellied, with multiple fullers, with punch work along the spine and inlaid maker’s marks. In its wooden scabbard covered in brocade with elaborate woven leather central panel. Mid-19th century. Light wear. Overall length 78cm. Condition II
