Description
A rare type popular in the Black Sea region, with shirmani grips of characteristic large-eared form and elaborately filigreed and gilded silver tangband and reinforces set with corals, the straight, single-edged blade with T-back, wrought of actively-grained wootz. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with silver mounts engraved in floral motifs and struck with hallmarks. First half of the 19th century. Overall length 58cm. Condition II
