Description
Rajput work, the hilt elaborately pierced with inlaid with gold. The fine blade well-wrought of wootz, bifullered and inlaid at the forte with Devanagari inscriptions in gold. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with finely embossed gilt mounts. First half of the 18th century. Inscriptions rubbed, velvet heavily worn. Overall length 42cm. Condition III
