Description
Rarely encountered, the New World steel hilt with horn grips, knucklebow and quillon, the large guard with pierced edges and faint engraving. The long, double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section with two short fullers at either side of the forte, retaining its full length and struck with marks at the forte. Beginning of the 19th century. Well worn overall, guard slightly loose. Overall length 76cm. Condition III
