Description
Reputedly made for the Eglinton Tournament of 1839. Handwrought of steel, composed of a crested celata helmet with fine applied pierced brass mounts, well-wrought breast- and backplate with well-modeled central ridge and flared waist. The arms finely embellished with embossed, scalloped panels at the pauldrons and large coudieres with applied fretwork borders. First half of the 19th century. Painted, releathered. Height of breastplate 43cm. MANNEQUIN NOT INCLUDED. Condition III
