Description
Composed of an embellished helmet and shield, etched with scenes from Persian mythology and bands of calligraphy in alternating cartouches in geometrical arrangements. The helmet of characteristic hemispherical form with top spike, adjustable nasal bar and plume tubes. The circular steel shield elaborately etched en suite with the helmet and set with four bosses with scalloped borders. 19th century. Camail lacking. Diameter of shield 46.5cm. Condition II STAND NOT INCLUDED
