Description
The grip carved of a single piece of pale green jade, terminating in a fully-modeled naturalistic ram’s head, the features finely executed. The steel bolster finely inlaid in gold, the single-edged blade of characteristic form, lavishly inlaid at the forte in gold, and forged of actively-patterned Persian black wootz. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with steel mounts heavily inlaid with gold in vegetal motifs. 19th century. Overall length 35cm. Very light rubbing to mounts and velvet, binding lacking.
