Description
The cup well chiseled and pierced with bands of foliate work throughout, with long quillons and knucklebow with beaded center and terminal, the pommel with foliate chiseling. Grip with original wire wrap and turkshead knots intact. Fine, long double-edged tapering blade with narrow central fullers signed BARTOLOMEO LOPRESTI on the left, and FABRICA DI PALERMO on the right. Mid-17th century. Cup worn with minor repairs. Overall length 114cm. Condition III
