The trilobate iron pommel with inlaid borders and character motifs and wire-wrapped grip set, the guard with profiled edge. The blade straight, continuously tapering and single-edged with acute tip, its characteristic hairpin pattern-welded construction clearly visible. The scabbard of leather-covered wood with brass-inlaid iron frame and embossed and engraved silver chape with massive stud terminal. 18th century. Worn. Overall length 50cm. Condition II
