Moro Peoples, a captured piece, the crested grip carved of banati wood, the silver ferrule with panels of woven coir. The massive, handforged blade of characteristic form. In its rattan-bound wooden scabbard with finely-carved panels of okir decoration and rattan wrap, together with an attached brass collection tag reading, J.M. DAVIS MEMORIAL S728. Second half of the 19th century. Minor wear overall, loss to scabbard. Overall length 67cm. Condition III
