Description
With polished dark horn grips and large floriform silver bosses, the filigreed tangband and stepped bolster likewise silver. The single-edged blade with large gold inlaid Qur?anic panel to right forte terminating in a split palemette and another with vinework to the left. The finely-forged blade of actively-patterned black wootz. In its scabbard wrought entirely of silver with with applied crescents and leaves, inscribed with Qur?anic passages, the tip with silver wire wrap and bead finial. Late18th-early 19th century. Very light wear. Overall length 40.4cm.Condition I
