Characteristic of Tanjore work, the distinctive guard forged with high central ridge and monster?s head finial, the rails with profiled and beaded terminals. The reinforces en suite, with profiled edges, retaining the broad, well-wrought, multifullered blade with thickened armor-piercing tip. Retains its velvet-covered wooden scabbard. Beginning of the 17th century. Well worn overall. Overall length 52cm. Condition III
