A massive example of characteristic form, the grips carved with Persian nobility in polygonal cartouches with dentated borders. The blade wrought of fine Persian black wootz with a panel of lions hunting at either side of the forte, heightened with goldwork. First half of the 19th century. Very minor wear. Overall length 38cm. Condition II
