Mughal work, the elephant grips with fine age patina and profiled steel bolsters with rare thumb- rest. The straight, T-backed blade with raised, chamfered edge, wrought of very fine Persian black wootz. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with large, finely embossed and engraved silver mounts. 18th-19th century. Overall length 36.5cm. Condition II
