Description
Likely produced in Tbilisi by a Lakh master, the polished horn grips set in mounts of finely engraved and nielloed silver. The straight, handwrought, double-edged blade with central ridge. The leather-covered wooden scabbard with large, elaborately engraved and nielloed mounts, the locket reverse embellished with Mkhedruli initials and struck with Imperial Russian silver marks. Latter 19th century. Blade with very minor areas of age darkening. Overall length 54.1cm. Condition II
