Description
Of characteristic form, bronze with finely molded muzzle and breach, prominent cascabel and trunnions. Well-patinated. C. 1650-1750. Such cannon were popular throughout the Moro lands and Borneo, where they were used on shipboard, the rails of longhouses and other dwellings, and as part of the dowry. Mounted on a hardwood carriage for presentation, probably to a groom. Overall length 20.2cm. Condition II
