Mughal work, the grip carved of a single large section of rock crystal, with fine, fully-modeled rams head pommel, the eyes rubies set in high-karat gold. The bolsters and forte of the wootz blade finely inlaid in gold in flowering vine motifs. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with heavily gilded and engraved mounts. 19th century. Velvet worn. Overall length 31.1cm. Condition II
