Mughal work of classic form, the fine green jade grips expanding toward the pommel, carved with three flowers on each side, set with rubies in high-karat gold. The single-edged, tapering blade with gold-inlaid bolster, and showing evidence of possible wootz construction. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with gilded and engraved mounts. Mid-19th century. Velvet refreshed. Overall length 33.5cm. Condition II
