Description
A rare form, displaying design characteristics derived from both Central Asian sabers and the Cossack shashka. The horn grips with characteristic pommel and engraved steel bolster, the heavy, single-edged blade with broad fuller and engraved panels. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with steel mounts. Second half of the 19th century. Leather possibly refreshed. Overall length 102cm. Condition III
