The hilt with polished horn grips with characteristic iron pommel and guard. The fine, long blade of deep curvature well-forged with areas of actively-grained Persian wootz visible and inscribed with gold-inlaid cartouches at the left forte reading, SHAH ABBAS SERVANT OF THE RULER OF THE LAND and WORK OF ASSAD ALLAH. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with engraved brass mounts. 18th-19th c. Losses to inlays, leather refreshed. Overall length 101cm. Condition II
