Description
A massive example, mounted entirely in silver, engraved and nielloed. The long grip with silver pommel of faceted us-bud form, the long blade of especially high quality, well-wrought with elaborate copper and silver inlaid panels for its entire length, depicting Burmese nobility surrounded by inscriptions. The scabbard mounted in silver, engraved and nielloed en suite, the woven shoulder cord a working life replacement. C. 1850. Well worn, minor dents, losses to niello. Overall length 44.8cm. Condition IV
