Description
Highly valued by the Moro Peoples. Of characteristic form, with molded muzzle and breach and engraved okir motifs. On its rare original four-wheeled bronze carriage. Well-patinated. C. 1700-1800. Such cannon were popular throughout Borneo and the Moro lands, where they were used in battle, on shipboard, on the rails of longhouses to repel pirates, and as part of the dowry.
