Description
The slender stock of dark hardwood, with sideplates, buttcap and barrel bands all of profiled silver. The octagonal barrel profusely inlaid in gold flowering vines at the expanded breech and swamped muzzle, the tang with the maker’s name, Work of Sira, deeply struck and gilded. Retains its original steel ramrod with profiled finial. Mid-18th century. Overall length 140.1 cm. Condition I
