Description
A massive example, the grip carved of ebony and elaborately mounted in filigreed silver, with a separately-applied filigreed boss set with a coral at the center. The heavy blade lightly curved, double-edged and wrought of fine, actively-grained Persian black wootz. The scabbard entirely embellished in beaded and filigreed silver. First half of the 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 57cm. Condition II
