Description
A fine large example of a rare type, the elephant grips with pronounced ears, the silver ferrule and tangband engraved and nielloed. The straight, single-edged blade well-forged and inlaid with festoons of silver stars. The silver scabbard elaborately profiled, chiseled, engraved and nielloed overall in Sebian floral and vine motifs, and dated 1804 on the reverse. Minor wear. Overall length 41cm. Condition II
