Description
Likely made in the Ottoman Court workshop, with fine polished pale green jade grip, the pommel with a ruby set in gold, with engraved and gilded bolster. The finely-forged, single-edged blade of actively-patterned black wootz, with large gold-inlaid foliate panel and MASH’ALLAH! (God’s blessing!) In its scabbard wrought entirely of silver, embossed and engraved with finely-detailed flowering vinework. Late18th-early 19th century. Very light wear. Overall length 32.2cm. Condition I
