Possibly Chinese work, the straight, single-edged blade well-wrought, showing layered forging, with short back edge and remains of gold inlay to spine. The grip with steel mounts and elephant grips. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with steel mounts. Early-mid 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 44cm. Condition III
