Description
The hilt wrought entirely of silver with well-engraved foliate panels, the pommel characteristic of Aegean examples, the guard with flattened lobate quillon finials. The blade well-wrought, characteristically short for use at sea, displaying European influence in its fine fullering and hollow ground edge, expanding substantially at the yelman and terminating in a radiused cutting tip. 18th-19th century. Worn overall. Overall length 79.6cm. Condition III
