Description
A massive example, mounted entirely in silver and very finely engraved. The two-handed grip tapering continuously to the flanged pommel, the long blade of especially high quality, well-wrought with elaborate silver inlaid panels for its entire length, depicting finely detailed nobility surrounded by inscriptions. The scabbard mounted in silver, engraved en suite, the woven shoulder cord a working life replacement. Mid-19th century. Very light wear. Overall length 88.3cm. Condition II
