Description
Of classic form, the hilt with horn grips, the guard and tangband of brass. The broad, T-section blade with numerous silver-inlaid inscriptions to either side, including ALLAH! MUHAMMAD! ALI! and 1218 YEAR, together with the owner’s name, AHMAD and geometrical panels of stars, and wrought of rare, dramatically-patterned Turkish Rose twistcore damascus steel. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with large brass mounts. Dated 1803. Worn overall, losses to inlay, velvet refreshed. Overall length 82cm. Condition III
