Description
A fine example, dating to the period of Hungarian nationalism under the Austrian Empire. Of characteristic hussar form, the hilt mounted in elaborately-embellished brass and set with onyx, and the scabbard bound in stamped leather and embellished brass mounts en suite with the hilt. The finely-forged blade with pronounced back edge, and embellished with three brass ornaments, one possibly a family crest. Mid- 19th century. Overall length 93cm. Condition I
