Description
An exceptional Greek Revolutionary-era dagger. The silver grip and reinforces engraved and nielloed overall with Classical Greek motifs, a set of motifs very rarely encountered during this period. The exceptional blade of characteristic form, with bellied edge and upswept tip, and fine chiseled panels at the spine and either side of the blade. In its later working life silver-covered sheath engraved en suite with the Classical motifs found on the hilt. Dagger Late 18th-early 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 37cm. Condition II
